midsections
Torsos and abdomens
Midsections is the plural of midsection, the middle part of something.
Most often it refers to the central area of the human body between the chest and hips—the waist, abdomen, and lower back: He's been doing crunches to strengthen his midsection.
The term also applies to the middle portion of other things, like vehicles, buildings, or texts: The midsection of the novel drags a bit.
