micropreemie
Very premature infant
A micropreemie is an extremely premature infant, typically born before 26 weeks of gestation or weighing less than 1 pound 12 ounces (800 grams).
These babies face the highest risks among premature infants and require intensive medical intervention: The micropreemie spent four months in the NICU.
The term is used primarily in medical contexts and by parents navigating neonatal care.
