methinks

It appears so

Methinks is an archaic or humorous way of saying "it seems to me" or "I think": Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

The word is a fixed form from Old English where "me" is the object and "thinks" means "seems"—not the modern sense of thinking.

Today it appears almost exclusively in deliberate archaism or jest.
