meeple
Wooden player token
A meeple is a small wooden or plastic figure used as a game piece in board games, typically human-shaped with a simple silhouette—a head and body with outstretched arms.
The term originated with the game Carcassonne and spread to describe similar pieces in tabletop gaming generally: Each player starts with seven meeples in their color.
