maxed out

At the limit

Maxed out means pushed to the limit or fully exhausted.

A credit card is maxed out when spending has reached its limit: I can't charge anything—my Visa is maxed out.

The phrase extends to any resource at capacity: maxed out on overtime, maxed out on patience.

Someone physically or mentally depleted might say I'm totally maxed out.
