mast cell activation
Histamine release trigger
Mast cell activation is the process by which mast cells—immune cells found throughout body tissues—release histamine and other inflammatory chemicals in response to triggers.
This response is normal during allergic reactions and wound healing, but when dysregulated, causes chronic symptoms: flushing, hives, digestive problems, and in severe cases, anaphylaxis.
Her mast cell activation was triggered by stress and certain foods.
