manufacturer coupon

A manufacturer coupon is a discount voucher issued by the company that makes a product, as opposed to a store coupon issued by a retailer.

The distinction matters because manufacturer coupons can typically be used at any store that stocks the product, and some stores allow stacking them with store coupons: The cashier accepted both the manufacturer coupon and the store coupon on the same item.
