machine pistols
Compact automatic firearms
Machine pistols are automatic or semi-automatic handguns capable of fully automatic fire—holding down the trigger fires continuously until the magazine empties.
They blur the line between pistols and submachine guns, combining a handgun's compact size with a machine gun's rapid fire capability.
Examples include the Glock 18 and Beretta 93R.
The security detail carried machine pistols concealed under their jackets.
