lottery number
Jackpot entry selection
A lottery number is a number selected or assigned for use in a lottery drawing.
Players choose or receive lottery numbers hoping they match the winning combination: I always play the same lottery numbers.
The term extends to any system where random numbers determine outcomes, such as the Vietnam-era draft lottery that assigned conscription priority by birthdate.
