longways
Along the length
Longways means lengthwise—in the direction of the longer dimension: Fold the paper longways.
The word is interchangeable with lengthwise and the variant longwise.
In traditional dance, a longways set arranges couples in two parallel lines facing each other, extending the length of the hall.
