lightning talks
Quick conference speeches
Lightning talks are brief presentations, typically five minutes or less, given in rapid succession at conferences or meetups.
The format forces speakers to distill ideas to essentials and keeps audiences engaged through variety: We have six lightning talks before the keynote.
The name evokes speed—ideas delivered in quick flashes rather than extended discussion.
