lease to own
Gradual acquisition agreement
Lease to own is an arrangement where someone rents property or goods with the option—or obligation—to purchase them at the end of the lease period.
Part of each payment typically goes toward the eventual purchase price.
The arrangement is common for homes, cars, and appliances: We're doing a lease-to-own on the house.
Also called rent-to-own.
