learning accommodations
Academic accessibility measures
Learning accommodations are adjustments to educational environments or methods that help students with disabilities or learning differences access the same material as their peers.
Common accommodations include extended test time, note-taking assistance, audio recordings of lectures, or alternative exam formats.
The term appears most often in discussions of disability services: She requested learning accommodations for her dyslexia.
Accommodations differ from modifications, which alter what students learn rather than how they learn it.
