late-term
Almost due date
Late-term describes something occurring in the final stage of a defined period.
Most often applied to pregnancy: a late-term abortion or late-term miscarriage happens in the third trimester.
The phrase also appears in political contexts for officials nearing the end of their time in office: a late-term policy shift, late-term presidential appointments.
