kiln-dry
Heat-treat lumber thoroughly
To kiln-dry is to dry lumber, ceramics, or other materials in a kiln—a heated chamber that removes moisture faster and more uniformly than air-drying.
Kiln-dried wood is more stable and less prone to warping: Make sure you're using kiln-dried lumber for the cabinets.
The process also kills insects and mold.
