keratoses
Rough skin lesions
Keratoses is the plural of keratosis, a skin condition marked by rough, scaly patches caused by excessive keratin production.
The most common type is actinic keratosis, rough spots from sun damage that may become cancerous: The dermatologist froze several keratoses on his forearms.
Seborrheic keratoses are benign, waxy growths common in older adults.
