junction boxes
Electrical connection housings
Junction boxes are enclosures where electrical wires meet and connect.
They protect wire connections from damage and contain potential sparks or heat, reducing fire risk.
In construction and electrical work, junction boxes must be accessible for inspection: The electrician installed a junction box in the attic where the circuits split.
Also called J-boxes.
