judas
Treacherous trusted one
A judas is a traitor, especially one who betrays under the guise of friendship.
The term derives from Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver.
A judas hole or judas window is a small peephole in a door, allowing someone to observe without being seen—watching others as Judas watched for his opportunity.
He turned judas on his own crew. (Capitalized Judas is the biblical figure or a given name.)
