jet wash
Aircraft thrust trail
Jet wash is the turbulent stream of exhaust gases expelled from a jet engine, dangerous to anything caught behind an aircraft during takeoff or taxiing.
The term extends to any powerful wash of air or water: The jet wash from the helicopter flattened the grass.
In British usage, a jet wash is also a high-pressure water sprayer for cleaning vehicles.
