jerkins
Close-fitting leather vests
Jerkins is the plural of jerkin, a close-fitting sleeveless jacket, typically leather, worn over a shirt or doublet.
The garment was common in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries but survives mainly in historical costume and Renaissance faire attire: The actors wore jerkins and breeches for the Shakespeare production.
