isolation wards
Separated patient areas
Isolation wards are hospital sections where patients with contagious diseases are kept separate from others to prevent spread of infection.
The term also applies to areas housing patients whose immune systems are compromised and who must be protected from outside pathogens: The burn unit functions as an isolation ward.
