intimidations

Acts of menacing

Intimidations are acts of frightening or threatening someone to influence their behavior.

The word usually appears in legal or formal contexts describing patterns of coercion: a campaign of intimidations against witnesses, repeated intimidations by debt collectors.

The singular intimidation is far more common, covering both the act and the state of being intimidated.
