interpretive trail
Guided nature walk
An interpretive trail is a path through a natural or historical area with signs, markers, or displays explaining features along the way.
Unlike trails meant purely for recreation, interpretive trails educate visitors about local ecology, geology, wildlife, or cultural history: The interpretive trail through the wetlands identified native plants and bird species.
Often found in parks, nature preserves, and historic sites.
