internal diameter
Tube's inside measurement
Internal diameter is the measurement across the inside of a hollow object—a pipe, tube, cylinder, or ring—taken from one inner wall to the opposite inner wall.
Abbreviated ID.
The distinction from external diameter matters for fitting parts together: a pipe's internal diameter determines what can pass through it, while its external diameter determines what it can fit inside.
