interlocutory

Not final judgment

Interlocutory describes something occurring during the course of legal proceedings rather than as a final resolution.

An interlocutory order or injunction is a temporary ruling issued while a case is still pending: The judge granted an interlocutory injunction to halt construction until the lawsuit is decided.

The term is almost exclusively legal.
