instillation
Slow drop-by-drop application
Instillation is the act of introducing something gradually, drop by drop or bit by bit.
In medicine, it refers specifically to administering liquid medication in drops: instillation of eye drops, bladder instillation.
The word also applies to implanting ideas or qualities over time: the instillation of values in children.
Not to be confused with installation.
