input jack
Cable connection point
An input jack is a socket designed to receive a signal from an external source—typically audio or video.
On amplifiers, mixers, and recording equipment, the input jack is where you plug in instruments, microphones, or other devices: Plug your guitar cable into the input jack on the amp.
Distinguished from output jacks, which send signals out.
