inner lip
Oral cavity edge
The inner lip is the moist, fleshy inside surface of the lip that meets the gums and teeth, as distinct from the outer lip visible on the face.
It's thinner-skinned and more sensitive than the outer portion.
The term appears in contexts like piercing, dental care, or describing where someone bit themselves: I have a canker sore on my inner lip.
