inbreath
Lung-filling moment
An inbreath is a breath drawn in, an inhalation.
The word appears in meditation and yoga contexts, where attention to breathing is deliberate: Focus on the inbreath, then slowly release.
It pairs naturally with outbreath.
Less common than inhale or breath in, but useful when distinguishing the two phases of respiration.
