oxygen uptake
Cellular air intake
Oxygen uptake is the rate at which the body absorbs and uses oxygen during physical activity, a key measure of aerobic fitness.
Exercise physiologists measure it to assess cardiovascular capacity: Her oxygen uptake peaked during the final sprint.
Also called VO2, with maximum oxygen uptake designated VO2 max.
