idiobiont
Kills then feeds
An idiobiont is a parasitic insect, typically a wasp, that kills or permanently paralyzes its host at the time of egg-laying.
The developing larva feeds on the immobilized host, which cannot grow or defend itself.
This contrasts with koinobionts, which allow their hosts to continue living and developing while being parasitized.
