hyperborean
Extremely northern region
Hyperborean refers to the far north or its inhabitants.
In Greek mythology, the Hyperboreans were a blessed people living beyond the north wind in a land of perpetual sunshine.
The word now describes anything relating to arctic or subarctic regions: hyperborean winds, hyperborean landscapes.
It can also suggest extreme cold or remoteness: the hyperborean wastes of Siberia.
