hunting zones
Designated wildlife regions
Hunting zones are designated areas where hunting is permitted, typically established by wildlife management authorities.
Zones divide regions for regulatory purposes—setting different seasons, bag limits, or permitted game species: The state is divided into twelve hunting zones, each with its own deer season.
Hunters must know which zone they're in to comply with local regulations.
