hunting strategy

A hunting strategy is a method or approach used to locate, pursue, and capture prey.

The term applies literally to predators in the wild—wolves using pack coordination, lions employing ambush—and to human hunters planning their approach to game.

Figuratively, it describes systematic pursuit of any target: Her hunting strategy for job leads involved networking at industry events.
