flight response
Automatic danger retreat
Flight response is the instinctive urge to flee from perceived danger, one half of the fight-or-flight reaction.
When threatened, the body releases stress hormones that prepare it to either confront the threat or escape it.
The flight response prioritizes running, hiding, or otherwise removing oneself from harm: Her flight response kicked in and she bolted for the door.
