hunting call
Sound summoning hounds
A hunting call is a sound made to attract, locate, or communicate about game animals.
Hunters use calls that mimic animal vocalizations—duck calls, turkey calls, elk bugles—to draw prey within range.
The term also covers horn signals used in traditional fox hunting to coordinate riders and hounds: The huntsman sounded the hunting call.
