hotdoggers
Ski slope showboaters
Hotdoggers are people who show off, especially through flashy or risky performances.
The term comes from hotdog as a verb meaning to perform stunts or tricks for attention.
Skiers and surfers who attempt showy maneuvers are hotdoggers: The halfpipe was full of hotdoggers trying to outdo each other.
The word carries a mix of admiration and mild disdain—skill is implied, but so is excessive ego.
