high-wheelers
Giant-front-wheel bikes
High-wheelers are bicycles with a very large front wheel and a small rear wheel, popular in the 1870s and 1880s before the modern "safety bicycle" design emerged.
The rider sat high atop the large wheel, which made for a precarious ride—falling from one was called "taking a header." Also called penny-farthings, especially in British English.
