henries

Coil measurement units

Henries is the plural of henry, the unit of electrical inductance in the International System of Units.

Named after American physicist Joseph Henry, it measures a circuit's opposition to changes in current.

A coil has an inductance of one henry when a current changing at one ampere per second produces one volt: The transformer's primary winding measured 2.5 henries.
