button mashers
Rapid controller pressers
Button mashers are video game players who rapidly press buttons without strategy or skill, hoping random inputs will produce results.
The term is mildly dismissive, contrasting with players who learn precise combos and timing: He just button mashes through every fighting game.
Button masher also describes games that reward or tolerate this approach: It's a fun button masher, nothing deep.
