Hard-coded describes values or settings written directly into a program's source code rather than stored in external files or entered by users.
A hard-coded password can't be changed without modifying the program itself: The API key was hard-coded into the app, which is a security risk.
By extension, anything fixed and inflexible may be called hard-coded: Gender roles aren't hard-coded into our brains.
