Soft round bread
A hamburger bun is a round bread roll sliced horizontally to hold a hamburger patty and its toppings.
The top half is often domed, the bottom flat.
Buns may be plain, seeded with sesame, or enriched with butter (brioche buns).
The patty was too big for the bun.
