half inch
Small linear distance
Half inch is a unit of measurement equal to one-half of an inch, or about 1.27 centimeters.
In Cockney rhyming slang, half inch means pinch—that is, to steal: Someone's half-inched my wallet.
This slang use is primarily British and often playful, suggesting petty theft rather than serious crime.
