gun carriages

Artillery wheel frames

Gun carriages are wheeled frames or mounts that support artillery pieces, allowing cannons to be aimed, fired, and transported.

Before motorized vehicles, horse-drawn gun carriages moved field artillery across battlefields.

The term also applies to ceremonial carriages used in military funerals: The casket was borne on a gun carriage.
