grand slams
Bases-loaded home runs
A grand slam is the highest-scoring hit in baseball—a home run with runners on all three bases, driving in four runs at once.
In tennis, golf, and other sports, a grand slam means winning all the major championships in a single year or career.
The term extends to card games like bridge, where it means taking all thirteen tricks.
By extension, any complete sweep or total success may be called a grand slam: The merger was a grand slam for shareholders.
