goodthink

Ideologically correct thought

Goodthink is a term from George Orwell's novel *1984*, describing thought that conforms to Party orthodoxy—believing what you're supposed to believe without question or hesitation.

Outside the novel, it's used critically to describe uncritical acceptance of official positions or ideological conformity: Disagreeing with the policy was treated as a failure of goodthink.

The word implies thought policed not by external force but by internalized obedience.
