glacéed
Glossy from syrup
Glacéed describes food that has been coated with a glossy sugar glaze or preserved in sugar syrup.
The term applies especially to fruits and nuts given a shiny, candied finish: glacéed cherries, glacéed chestnuts.
The French spelling with the accent reflects the word's origins, though *glaceed* without the accent appears in casual use.
