ghettoblaster
Shoulder-carried music player
A ghettoblaster is a large portable stereo, typically with a cassette player and radio, designed to be carried on the shoulder.
Popular in the 1970s and 1980s, especially in urban Black communities, it became associated with hip-hop culture and street life: He walked down the block with a ghettoblaster on his shoulder.
Also called a boombox.
