bboy

Windmill floor dancer

A bboy is a male breakdancer—someone who practices the acrobatic street dance style that emerged from hip-hop culture in 1970s New York.

The term combines "break" (from breakbeats, the instrumental sections DJs would loop) with "boy." Female practitioners are bgirls.

The bboys took turns in the cipher, each trying to outdo the last.
