garden roses

Garden roses are cultivated rose varieties bred for ornamental use in landscapes and gardens, distinguished from wild roses and the long-stemmed florist roses sold in shops.

They typically feature fuller, more fragrant blooms with complex petal arrangements and come in diverse forms including shrub roses, climbing roses, and old garden roses.

The garden roses along the fence bloomed all summer.

Gardeners prize them for disease resistance, repeat flowering, and romantic, often cabbage-like flower shapes.
